Planning the Perfect Fitness Photography Session
When photographing fitness professionals, preparation is everything. The Body Bar team and I spent time discussing their brand values — strength, community, and inclusivity — and how to translate these visually. We wanted images that would not only look great on their website and social media but would genuinely reflect the supportive atmosphere they've created at their La Costa location.
Studio fitness photography presents unique challenges compared to outdoor shoots. Without the natural environment of a beach workout or trail run (which San Diego offers in abundance!), we needed to create visual interest through lighting, movement, and composition.
The Body Bar team brought incredible energy to the shoot. As fitness professionals, they understand how to move with intention, making my job of capturing powerful moments that much easier. Their genuine camaraderie came through in every frame, especially during the group sequences where their coaching dynamics were on full display.
